special announcements issue
January 14, 2007
Scholegium Volume 2, Issue 2 will be out in a day or two. There should have been an issue this weekend but my time has been taken up with getting the Schola website ready for registration for Fall 2007-2008 classes.
And on that note, you're welcome to visit (http://www.scholatutorials.org) and see what Schola Classical Tutorials has to offer this coming year, '07-'08. Click on "Internet Tutorials Information" in the left pane, look over the course listings, click on the titles and read the course descriptions, and see what looks interesting. Schola's courses are geared toward highschool level students (about ages 14-18) and college age, too. But adults are welcome to join also! They might especially be interested in the Church History, Roman History, Bible History, Astronomy, and Greek courses.
Currently-registered families are now re-registering for next year, but on March 1, registration opens to the public. All are welcome to send an email of interest to check on space availability, and you don't have to wait till March 1. You may email any time and I can put you on a waiting list till March 1. The sooner you email me the higher you'll be on the waiting list.
My daughter, Emily Callihan, is also offering an expanded selection of courses for next year in her tutorial service, including her Latin courses, the second year of Introduction to Great Books (for younger students), and her new Biblical Hebrew course! It will be Emily's eighth year of teaching, and those of you who have been involved with her tutorials know what an excellent teacher she is. You can see her courses at her old site, http://www.schola-tutorials.com/misscallihanlatin.htm, but keep your eyes open - she's opening a new website under a new name soon. Same great teacher, brand new internet look.
